1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS
Pictures from Day 2 of the Porsche Parade on Monday, June 10th in Birmingham, AL of a special car, the 1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. This was was produced to comply with homologation regulations requiring 100 cars, so that it could then qualify for racing. Porsche produced 106 in 1964. It was a successor to the 718 and marked the beginning of a series of sportscars that culminated in the dominant 917. It has a 2.0L four cylinder engine with 198 horsepower and was thought to be one of the most complicated four cylinders of all time. The list price was $7,245 in 1964.

This car placed first in its category at the PCA Concours d’Elegance. Painted in silver.

Basically, a race car for the street. 1 of 106 produced in 1964.
