2018 Porsche Parade - Monday
Jerry and Susan Jindrich

Monday was a treat for us because our son Michael joined us to attend the Concours, an evening dinner cruise, and a Tuesday driving tour to the Stone Hill Winery.

The Concours d'Elegance and Historic Display took place on Monday. Like kids in a candy store, Porsche enthusiasts wandered from car to car with a variety of expressions. Some were smiles of recognition or happy memories. Some were looks of admiration or longing for extraordinary cars. Some were the critical looks of appraising judges.

Here are some examples.

Panamera Sport Turismo homage to the "Pink Pig" 917/20 that ran at Le Mans in 1971.

Trophies awaited the judges' decisions.

The Concours was a treat. We enjoyed seeing both familiar and rare Porsches.

Late in the afternoon a group of us gathered for a dinner cruise. The person you don't recognize on the far right is our son Michael. Photo by Debbie Jackson.

We chose one of the two air-conditioned boats hired for the evening.

This is a view of Tan-Tar-A and people boarding the second boat.

The breeze felt good.

The cruise was relaxing. The shoreline varied in elevation and drama.

A number of homes and condos had expensive views overlooking the lake.

Everyone seemed to have a good time.

The serving line was a little cozy but the food was good.

Marie and Bob Donnelly posed for a selfie.

The whole cruise lasted about two hours and made for a pleasant evening.

Tomorrow would probably be busier.
