The annual Porsche Parades offer great experiences for Porsche enthusiasts. We have tried in recent years to give you an idea of what it's like to attend. The 2015 Parade was held in nearby French Lick, IN, and was covered extensively on this website. The 2016 Parade in Jay Peak, VT, and the 2017 Parade in Spokane, WA, were described on the site and by emailed dispatches including photos and commentary by Jeff Jackson.

The 2018 Parade was held in Missouri on the Lake of the Ozarks and was close enough for many SIR members to enjoy in person. The Parade started on Sunday, July 8 and ended on Saturday, the 14th. Like other recent Parades, this one featured a group party or banquet almost every night, a Concours d'Elegance and Historic Display on Monday, driving tours Tuesday through Saturday, an autocross competition, a time-speed-distance rally, a gimmick rally, an art show, children's events, technical sessions, several other activities, a free lunch for volunteers on Saturday, and an actual parade of Porsches on Saturday capped by a group photo of all the cars from that parade.

Some people engaged in lots of different activities. Others were there for the serious competitive events like the autocross and concours. Some just came to relax among other Porsche enthusiasts. Many volunteered for the multitude of Parade "jobs" to earn a Volunteer shirt, help the Parade run smoothly, mingle with other attendees, and enjoy the free Volunteer lunch on Saturday.

The Southern Indiana Region was well represented at this event by these people. It's likely that all will be happy to tell you about their Parade experience.

We didn't try to document every event. Mitch Deep was only able to attend for a couple of days, but wrote a spirited account of his time (it sounds just like him). Jerry and Susan Jindrich participated in several events from Sunday through Wednesday and headed off on their own for the rest of the week. Debbie Jackson and others contributed pictures to give you a taste of the week. Hopefully, these pages will encourage you to attend a Porsche Parade sometime soon.
