Porsche Experience Center
Driving to Atlanta

Friday morning, November 13. A group of us met in the Donut Bank parking lot to drive to Atlanta together. Others would meet us there that evening for another extraordinary SIR-PCA adventure.

Thanks to the exceptional generosity of D-Patrick Motorplex, Ray Farabaugh, and Tony Ricketts, 18 SIR members would be enjoying the Porsche Experience Center. A nineteenth member Dave Hostetter would join us with a ticket he won at the Porsche Parade.

We headed south on the Pennyrile Parkway in a variety of vehicles, with three 911s and a Cayman in the lead.

We made it as far as Hopkinsville, Kentucky before the first pit stop. Thank you, Starbucks.

From there, we took a crowded I-24 East toward Nashville.

We stopped for lunch in Murfreesboro at a Longhorn Steak House...

...and made our way east to make the steep, winding climb to Monteagle.

Then came Chattanooga and a turn straight south toward Atlanta.

It was late afternoon when we reached Atlanta,...

... just in time for the Friday rush hour.

We happily regrouped in the Hyatt lobby and made our way to the nearby Louisiana Bistreaux for dinner.

At this table (L-R) Dale Fatland, Judy Ridings, Linda Barth and Scott Kleuh.

Here: Tom Southwell, Mark Faris, Greg Collins, and Keith Snyder.

Mark Roethemeier, Sharon and Gary Maier, Criss and Macie Yelton.

Obviously in high spirits: Loren Urfer, Dave Hostetter, and Jeff and Debbie Jackson.

Enjoying the evening: Sally Davis, Carolyn Dornburg, Terry Davis, and Paul Dornburg.

Dee Dee Lewis, Manuel Ramirez, and Phil Green.

Finally, Jerry and Susan Jindrich.

Judy arranged a surprise birthday cake for Dale.

We sang, of course, and Dale had no trouble blowing out all the candles.

Back at the Hyatt, tomorrow's drivers with information packets from the Porsche Experience Center. Missing from the shot: Gary Maier and Daniel Fernandez.
