Spring Cookout

May 18 was a cool but sunny day for a spring cookout at Mark and Cheryl Roethemeier's home.

Mark invited SIR-PCA members to fill up his driveway and the street in front of his home and we did a pretty good job.

Not surprisingly, talk centered around Porsches,...

... and Mark's roomy garage. It's the kind of setup serious enthusiasts dream about.

Criss Yelton asked for details about the lifts.

Mark's appreciation for engineering excellence extends to Alfa Romeo's more interesting cars, such as this lovely 1985 GTV6.

A restoration project on the workbench. Mark's grandfather gave him this road grader when Mark was five years old!

In the house, (L-R) Dawn Green, new member Sharon Burks-Maier, Vicky Fox, Susan Jindrich, and Rita Southwell discussed a number of non-automotive topics.

Once the grill was ready, Mark and Cheryl started the burgers and hot dogs.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, snackers included (L-R) Dale Fatland, Macie Yelton, Judy Ridings, and Criss Yelton. Behind Criss: son Andrew Yelton.

Soon Cheryl served Pamela Simpson, Judy Ridings and Vicky Fox.

Diners settled in various locations. Here, Tom Southwell and Cheryl Roethemeier (backs to camera), join Pamela Simpson, Mike Fox, and Bob Sompson in the gazebo.

Dale, Criss, new member Gary Maier, and Phil Green dined on the deck.

The dessert table was covered with sweet treats furnished by Cheryl and several of the couples. Macie Yelton, Judy Ridings and Andrew Yelton sample the goodies.

Before the sun sank below the trees, it dramatically illuminated these three examples of Porsche's fascinating machines. Nice afternoon!
